[June] Green Drinks w/Groundwork Atlanta

  • Whole Foods Midtown - Rooftop Terrace 22 14th Street NW Atlanta, GA 30309 (map)

Do you live in Atlanta? Do you care about the environment & sustainability issues? Whatever your job, your degree of involvement, we welcome you to join Atlanta GREEN DRINKS, an always-free monthly social/networking event (2nd Wednesday of the month, 6-9pm) for like-minded locals to connect in a casual, relaxed space (& if you so choose) over drinks...

This month we're partnering with local non-profit GROUNDWORK Atlanta and hosting Green Drinks at WHOLE FOODSbrand new flagship location in Midtown—a 70,000 sq ft, multi-level store with 4 eateries, a Dtox juice bar, Farm Burger & Allegro Coffee Company, and over 1,500 local items from 250 suppliers.

Please join us at the Canopy Court rooftop terrace, which features skyline views overlooking 14th Street, a faux grass play space with cornhole & jumbo Jenga, and shipping container bar serving wine, local beer on tap, and local fare. We'll have some free appetizer plates for Green Drinks' guests (while they last!) ... Feel free to explore during the event, please just watch the signs for drink restrictions!

- Event is free entry, cash bar
- Free appetizers courtesy of Whole Foods
- Event is all social/networking, stop by any time from 6-9pm
- Open to the public—all enviros are welcome!

In the event of rain, Whole Foods has 2 add'l bars—meet us at the 14th Street Bar or Capital Commons (ground floor).

If driving, parking is free with validation (enter the garage off Spring Street between 13th & 14th). There is plenty of bike parking and the Arts Center MARTA station is just 0.3 miles away.

GROUNDWORK Atlanta works strategically and collaboratively to advance environmental projects that improve communities and quality of life in Atlanta. Our initial focus area is historically under-served parts of northwest Atlanta, including the Chattahoochee River and Proctor Creek watersheds.

Their programs include:

  • Urban Agriculture - In partnership with the Atlanta Mayor's Office of Resilience, we provide access to underutilized land for community gardens and farms, along with insurance and technical support.

  • Brownfield Redevelopment - We work with the U.S. EPA, the City of Atlanta, Trust for Public Land, and other partners to identify and remediate contaminated sites for community-oriented redevelopment.

  • Multi-use Path Network - In collaboration with Riverwalk Atlanta, the Path Foundation, and many others, we support planning and implementation of multi-use paths in Northwest Atlanta.
