Artist's Talk: Urban Wilderness + Man-Made Nature

  • Trees Atlanta TreeHouse 112 Krog Street NE, Suite 7 Atlanta, GA, 30307 United States (map)

URBAN WILDERNESS + MAN-MADE NATURE is a photography exhibit showcasing two photographers’ work beginning on October 8th through October 30th. The exhibit will include work on display both indoors and outdoors with images highlighting urban features of the city like the Atlanta BeltLine Arboretum. Virginie Kippelen and Shannon Davis bring a fresh perspective to the urban forest of Atlanta and the importance of paying attention to how the people of a city transform the canopy.

As part of the Atlanta Celebrates Photography 2015 Festival, you are invited to view the installation any time during visitor hours (10 am – 4 pm Monday through Friday), or email to schedule a visit.

Artists’ Talk: Urban Wilderness + Man-Made Nature on Tuesday, October 20th at the Trees Atlanta TreeHouse.

Virginie seeks out nature in the city and creates images that reflect on her experience of walking in parks and green spaces in search of a sense of wilderness.

Shannon focuses on areas where man has consciously moved or manipulated nature in order to co-exist. She frames these innocuous reconstructed spaces as if they are beautiful natural landscapes.
