GEORGIA’S SOLAR FINANCING BILL TO BE DISCUSSED
FEBRUARY 19 MEETING AT ASHRAE TO EXPLORE OPPORTUNITIES HB 57 WILL OPEN
The New Year has opened with the promise of the state’s most significant advance in solar policy yet!
HB 57, the Solar Power Free-Market Financing Act of 2015, has been introduced by state Rep. Mike Dudgeon (R-Johns Creek) with bright prospects for passage in this year’s General Assembly. http://tinyurl.com/nhjohzg
Stephen E. O’Day, partner and head of Environmental Law and Sustainability Practice with Smith Gambrell & Russell will present an explanation of the provisions of HB 57 during a very special GA Solar member meeting at 6 p.m. on February 19 at ASHRAE. Robert B. Baker, Jr., partner with Freeman Mathis & Gary, will introduce Mr. O’Day and facilitate the discussion.
Mr. O’Day and Mr. Baker have been close to the negotiations that resulted in wide support for this groundbreaking bill. In addition to explaining its provisions, they will answer questions about its potential effect and update the gathering on its progress through the legislative process.
This proposed policy change would open unprecedented opportunities for premises-based solar for homes and businesses in Georgia. The jobs and investment this new market would create could continue the expansion of Georgia’s solar market, which has drawn national attention in the past two years for its rapid growth.
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how your company can benefit from this exciting policy improvement!
