Workshop: Urban Soils & Composting

Want to learn more about what's going on below your garden beds? Curious to know how to encourage healthy root growth? Excited to recycle your food and yard waste into compost at home?

Learn first hand from soil expert, David Paull, owner of local business called Compost Wheels about the importance of soils. During this hands-on workshop David will cover the basics of soil composition in a classroom setting, followed by an up-close site visit to examine urban soils in the Atlanta BeltLine Arboretum and an exclusive tour of the Compost Wheels composting site in Grant Park to learn the process of creating nutrient-rich compost.

David's bio:
Driven by his passion for sustainability, which was fostered in SCAD’s interior design program, David Paull founded Compost Wheels, a company that provides composting services to urban customers who don’t have the space to do their own composting. Compost Wheels picks up organic waste from Atlanta households and leaves a bag of finished, composted soil behind.

Cost: $12
