What: Brewery-Based Development Tour & Talk with CNU Atlanta
When: August 25th, 6:00 - 9:00 PM
Where: BlueTarp Brewing Co., Three Taverns Brewery
Tickets: $25.00/CNU members, $35.00/non-members
If you've ever been to a local brewery, you already know how great they are--But did you know that they can have a pretty big impact on the surrounding community, too?
This month, CNU Atlanta is partnering with the City of Decatur to highlight how East Decatur Station developed from a former industrial node into a dense, diverse economic hub with a couple of outstanding breweries at its core. As the area continues to grow with the Avondale MARTA transit-oriented development set to break ground this fall, the East Decatur community will only continue to grow.
Join us for an evening to learn about East Decatur Station, have great beer at BlueTarp Brewing Co. and Three Taverns Brewery, explore Global Growers' Burundi Women's Farm, and hear from a number of speakers including Amanda Rhein, MARTA's Director for Transit Oriented Development, Catherine Lee of Decatur's Downtown Development Authority, and more.
Tickets for this event are $25.00 for CNU members and $35.00 for non-members, and provide tours and free samples of BlueTarp Brewing Co. (24 oz) & Three Taverns Craft Brewery (18 oz). Gourmet hot dogs from Doggy Dogg Atlanta are also available for pre-order; large for $8.00 or a small for $4.00.
To get to Blue Tarp Brewing Co. and East Decatur Station, ride MARTA to the Avondale MARTA Station, exit to the south bus bay, and follow the stairs or sidewalk to Sams Street--BlueTarp is right around the corner or Sams St. and E College Ave. Ride-sharing and cycling are recommended as well, but be advised, E College Ave does not have dedicated bike lanes by East Decatur Station at this time. Parking is also available at East Decatur Station next door, but it is limited and we do not advise drinking and driving from this event.
Countless thanks to our sponsors: Urban Realty Partners, City of Decatur Downtown Development Authority, East Decatur Station, and Sycamore Consulting, Inc. Please contact us at email@example.com with any questions or concerns.
We look forward to seeing you there. Cheers!
