Atlanta BeltLine Lantern Parade

  • Irwin Street NE at Sampson Street NE Atlanta GA 30312 (map)

Everyone is always invited to walk in the Lantern Parade! The lantern parade is based in your creative participation. There is no parade without you and your lantern! Make your masterpiece lantern at home or take a workshop! Parade line-up will begin at 7:15 on Irwin Avenue at the start of the Eastside Trail. We will step-off at 8:15 and finish in Piedmont Park at Park Tavern. The Lantern Parade kicks-off the season of Art on the Atlanta BeltLine, the largest public art exhibit in the southeast! Our little seven year old parade has nearly gotten too big for her britches! The BeltLine reported 60,000 folks participating and attending in 2015. To help the parade grow sweetly, we've written a Lantern Parade Game Book and FAQ's. Help us raise this child up right!

Lantern Parade Game Book
1. You need a lantern to walk in the parade.
2. Yield to bands and large lanterns.
3. Strut! And keep moving north.
4. Walk your bike, not your dog.
5. No flying lanterns.
6. Take your trash with you.
7. Have a blast!
